If you want a custom BARK SUP and don’t feel like waiting in line, you may just be in luck! The guys built a bunch of boards for the team riders that were coming from out of town and now those boards are on the block. Take a look below and if you see something you like, give Joe or Charlie a call.
These are all 14s (except for the prone UL on top). Widths top to bottom are 27.25″, 28.25″ and 27.5″ for the red and white one.
Another rack of 14s with a 12′6 on top. Top to bottom widths are 28.5″, 26.25″, 28″, 28″ and 30.25″.
Last up are a pair of 12′6s. Widths are 28″ on both.
Call or email for more info. Come grab one and get out there…. BOP 2012 is right around the corner!
This Saturday, 9/10, Jack Shimko’s southern CA open ocean odyssey will be ending in Newport Beach with several races, a celebration for his arrival and an after party. Please get down there. He will have paddled 260 miles in 10 days to raise money and cancer awareness for Paddle2Live.org…. AMAZING!
It’s been a long season with lots of training that all came to a head a week and a half ago. There will be photos and stories trickling in over the next couple weeks/months, but for now I think that our friends at Soul Surf Media summed up the feel of this year’s Classic really well.
Congratulations to the guys that get their names engraved on that trophy for 2011! Dr. Brad Thomas and Brian Rocheleau for UL. Eric Abbott and Bert Charlton for stock.
The race of the day may well have been been for the women’s title with Jo Ambrosi and DJ O’Brien battling across the bay with Jo bringing home another victory. Congrats to them both!
Best of luck to AV and all of the other BARK team members making the trek from 2 harbors to Manhattan Pier this Sunday. It may not crown the champion of the world, but as far as a lot of us are concerned, the Classic is still the grand daddy of em all.
Here’s a video of what crossing the Kaiwi channel in 5:10 and change looks like first hand! Awesome footage and congratulations again to Mikey Cote and Jack Bark on their win!
The boys paddled well, Keoni’s truck did NOT get diesel fuel put into it and Joe hasn’t keeled over from iodine poisoning from the 4 pounds of poke per day that he consumed. All in all, a success!
