Squamish, BC resident Norm Hann has set out on a 190 mile paddle along the coastal edge of the Great Bear Rainforest, which stretches from Vancouver Island to southeast Alaska. It is one of the largest remaining tracts of unspoiled temperate rainforest in the world, and is one of the most prolific areas for marine and terrestrial wildlife anywhere in the world. Hann seeks to bring awareness to the environmental threat a proposed oil pipeline and resultant tanker traffic would have on the rainforest, its people and wildlife.
You can track Hann’s progress through posts, photos and videos HERE.

One of paddling’s most active supporters, and notable cobbler, “Sparky” Longley of RAINBOW SANDALS recently linked up with our own John Becker for a couple of test miles in Dana Point on a new 14′ Dominator. Thanks for the photos, John!

Always in good company, Sparky insisted that Gerry join the paddle, even if in a borrowed suit.
